Supporting Roma Women in Poplavka: Awareness Meeting and Holiday Gifts for Children

Our team recently held an important informational and educational session for 24 Roma women living in the village of Poplavka.
During the event, we conducted:
• Sessions on “Building self-esteem, health care, and stress resilience” and “Understanding gender-based violence (GBV), prevention, and response”, led by our lawyer and psychologist.
• Individual legal and psychological consultations focused on the needs of the participants.
• Distribution of dignity kits, tailored to the specific needs of women living in difficult life circumstances.
• In addition, we prepared holiday gifts for children, which brought big smiles and warmth to their day.
Impact of the meeting:
Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of such initiatives for their families and communities.
We remain committed to supporting women and building a safe and inclusive environment for all.
The event was held within the framework of the “Sustainable Development and Self-Realization Program for Roma Women, Adolescents, and Children in Odesa Oblast,” supported by HIAS in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).
